Unoblique Pattern

Unoblique Pattern is the project of Filippo Brandi (Ludmilla Spleen, L’avvocato mancato, Ommemmerda) and Paolo Cantù.

Born from a three-day session in October 2023 and shaped by a meticulous selection and subsequent composition process, the entire work represents a sort of inner dialogue, a confidential exchange with death, the end and surrender, as well as their counterparts in both etymology and meaning: life, the beginning, and preservation. In this sense, the project travels "oblique paths", unconventional routes, seeking to mirror an intimate self that dissolves and loses itself in the absolute, a state that acts simultaneously as a fade-out into black and a fade-in into white.

…This truly beautiful and original record (something one cannot say often) should be heard by anyone who love - or loved - dark folk, the Velvet Underground, Sarah Kane, Vitaliano Trevisan, Guido Morselli, Starfuckers, Alberto Breccia, sentimentality devoid of sentiment, and (I would say above all) music that is well-conceived and even better played.
